At Pillsbury, our focus is on nutrition, quality...and choice!

We understand that proper nutrition is key to ensuring our residents continue to live healthy, active lives.  It’s important the homemade meals we prepare in-house are not only nutritious, but taste great and are enjoyable.  Our Director of Dining Services works hand in hand with our clinical dietician to hand craft and review all of our meal offerings to make sure they meet necessary nutrition requirements.  We are able to accommodate for special dietary requirements our residents may have as well.

Residents who live in our assisted care locations receive three homemade meals per day which are served in our family style dining rooms. Breakfast service begins at 7:30 am, lunch is served at noon, and dinner service begins at 5 pm. Traditionally, the larger meal was served mid-day, but we have recently reconfigured our menus to offer residents more choice and flexibility.  We now offer one expanded menu with three entree choices daily for the mid-day (lunch) and dinner (evening) meals.  In addition to the entrees, we offer sides, sandwich and soups options each day, as well as dessert options.  Family members and friends are always welcome to come and enjoy a meal with their loved-one.  We ask for at least 24 hours notice and charge a nominal fee for each guest meal.  Click here to see sample menus.

We are excited to announce that we have our own in-house baker who hand crafts many of the breads, baguettes, rolls and pastries our residents enjoy.  We also prepare all of our own soup and sauce bases from scratch which really makes a huge difference in the taste and quality of our varied menu offerings!

In season, we order local produce, meats, and dairy to not only have our food be as fresh and healthy as possible but to also support local producers.

“Times of transition are times of turmoil and change. The people at Pillsbury were there for my mother and me during those critical times. We are deeply grateful to them and happy with the important decisions we had to make at those times of transition.”

– Hank Fischer, whose mother lives at Pillsbury Manor South and was at Allenwood
